A Journey Into Light

Dr. Engelbert Winkler, a clinical psychologist, psychotherapist, and legal consultant, and Dr. Dirk Proeckl, a medical neurologist and psychologist, each run their own practices in Tyrol, Austria. After decades of research, they combined their expertise to create the Lucia N°03 in 2009.

Dr. Winkler’s inspiration came from his own near-death experience, which profoundly shifted his perception of life. He went on to interview hundreds of others who had NDEs, noting shared themes like moving toward light, losing awareness of time and space, and temporarily disconnecting from the ego. His early work involved guiding clients toward a solid light source during hypnotherapy.

When he shared these findings with Dr. Proeckl, Proeckl suggested combining steady and stroboscopic (flickering) light to gently entrain the brain—leading to the development of the Lucia N°03.

Their intention was not to create a device to fix or treat imbalance, but to offer an awe-inspiring experience that helps people momentarily step away from stress and reconnect with their natural wholeness. The Lucia N°03 is meant as a path back to remembrance of that state.
